Experienced in launching system design, production and support, BAE Systems produces the mechanical assemblies for the Mk 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS). Additionally, BAE Systems leads the design, development and production of missile launching canisters for the Vertical Launching System Mk 41. BAE Systems specializes in the design, integration and testing of advanced missile canister configurations to accommodate evolving weapon and load-out density requirements, as well as high-volume production to meet fleet requirements worldwide.
For the Navy's new DDG 1000 destroyer ship program, BAE Systems supports the DDG 1000 National Team with the design of the new Mk57 Vertical Launching System. This new vertical launching system will be installed along the sides of the DDG 1000 destroyer providing high speed and lethal response to key threats, while protecting the core of the ship from damage due to missile explosions from enemy fire.
